Why not take a stroll in Southampton today and check out the work of local artists?
The second annual Up Your Alley Art Show and Sale takes place from 10 AM to 3 PM Saturday in the alley between the art school and gallery in Southampton.
The event is sponsored by the Southampton Rotary Club.
Southampton Art Gallery Manager Aly Boltman says 28 artists will be set up at tables outside, along with 55 artists inside the gallery.
(on Soundingboard) Boltman says the visiting artists provide different material from the 55 who normally display at the gallery.
She says they’ve come from all over the Grey-Bruce region.
The event is free, unless you want to buy something.
Boltman says prices will vary, because artwork for sale could range from homemade greeting cards to original paintings.
Boltman says Up Your Alley isn’t just an art sale and show, artists will actually be doing their work so you can see what they do.
Boltman says the Rotary Club will also be barbecuing hot dogs and burgers for everyone to enjoy.
Ice cream will also be for sale, proceeds go to the Southampton Art Society, the organization that operates the Southampton Art Gallery and School.
