Another rally tomorrow against dump site 41 in Tiny Township.
The Council of Canadians will be marching 7 kilometre from Elmvale to site 41 at 10:30 AM, which will be followed by a peaceful rally and concert at the site at 1 PM.
Tonight — a movie and info night is being held at 7 PM at the site.
Maude Barlow will make an address followed by the showing of a film called FLOW, which stands for For Love Of Water.
Maude Barlow is the Chair of the Council of Canadians and Senior Advisor to the President of the UN General Assembly.
And there has also been a bylaw passed that restricts parking near the dump site.
Protest Organizer Vicki Monague says that the bylaw passed by Simcoe County restricts them from parking close to where the protest is taking place.
She says they can’t park on 230 meters of road now, and adds that older protestors may be in harms way when they are trying to pass construction vehicles while walking to the site.
Monague says they believe the parking restrictions are just to interfere with the protest, because this is the only landfill with a parking bylaw outside.
She says it’s also done more damage than good, and even says she sees it as racist the discriminatory.
