Canada Day celebrations run all day in Kincardine!
Erin Frook is the Recreation Supervisor for the Municipality.
She says they’ve created a full day of family fun beginning at 11am when a parade kicks things off at the Legion and wraps up at the flag at the foot of Harbour Street.
Frook says at 11:30 AM – the actual Canada Day Ceremony takes place – with speeches, poem readings by kids, a flag raising and the singing of our national anthem.
She says from noon until three, there are family activities at MacPherson Park including entertainment, a penny carnival and the cutting of the Canada Day cake.
Frook says the fireworks take place at dusk off the Pier at the Harbour.
The rain date for the fireworks is Thursday night, however events during the day go as planned rain or shine.
Frook says this year, they are capping off the celebrations with an outdoor movie on Thursday at 8 PM.
