The provincial and federal governments have announced new funding for recreation projects in the riding of Bruce Grey Owen Sound.
More than 2.5 million dollars will be shared among 13 projects.
Conservative MP Larry Miller says many local facilities are in need of repair and now is the best time to re-invest in the communities.
The projects were selected on the basis of merit and construction readiness.
South Bruce Peninsula was the big winner — the town will receive a total of 1.4 million dollars for upgrades at the Wiarton District Community Centre and Arena.
Northern Bruce Peninsula will receive over 260 thousand dollars for upgrades at the Ferndale Park and Baseball Field.
Chatsworth will receive almost 60 thousand dollars for upgrades to the Keady and Desboro Community Centres.
Southgate will receive almost 140 thousand dollars for upgrades to the Dundalk Arena and Community Centre.
West Grey will get 330 thousand dollars to rehabilitate the Durham Arena and Hall.
Meaford will receive over 210 thousand dollars for work at the Woodford Community Hall, the Riverside Community Centre and the Meaford and St. Vincent Community Centre.
Arran Elderslie will receive about 15 thousand dollars to replace the roof at the Chesley arena.
The Grey Sauble Conservation Area will receive over 60 thousand dollars to replace the boardwalk at the Bognor Marsh and build a pedestrian bridge at Inglis Falls.
The Chippewas of Nawash First Nation will receive 6 thousand dollars for a boardwalk at Cape Croker.
