Hanover and its Regional Aquatic Centre has received provincial recognition.
The town has been awarded the Lifesaving Society R. Brendin Stapells Cup and M.G. Griffiths Cup.
The awards recognize Hanover has the largest leadership training program per capita and the 2nd largest lifesaving program of all small municipalities in Ontario.
Parks and Recreation Facilities Manager Dale Steinhoff says the awards speaks highly of the type programming they offer.
He says the program is possible because of their large indoor facility.
The Hanover Pool boasts phenomenal numbers when it comes to usage — as the facility averages 100 thousand visitors a year.
The pool also offers school board swim programs, aqua fit, senior and lane swims as well a public swim times.
Steinhoff says Hanover has put its pool to good use.
On average the pools operates from 6:30 AM to 10 PM.
