It’s called the Ghostly Guardians of the Bruce Coast–The History of Our Lighthouses.
Spokesperson Mini Jacques says he display officially opens at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.
Jacques says eight lighthouses along the Bruce coastline will be featured in the program through photos and text and artifacts.
She says the stories surrounding the guardians are really family histories since in the past, entire families lived in or near the lighthouses, totally on their own, helping to safely navigate ships up and down Lake Huron.
Jacques says there is a special section of the display geared to youngsters where they can sail a ship and do some work with their hands.
She says the interactive portion of the display is necessary nowadays because kids want to be entertained–not just look at something under glass.
Last night sponsors and dignataries were invited to a sneak preview of the exhibit which is sponsored by Bayshore Broadcasting and 98 the Beach).
It’s open today at regular museum hours 10 AM to 5 PM with regular museum admission.
