Grey County’s Warden continues his tour of local municipalities
Warden Kevin Eccles told Council about a number of projects on the go — including a new joint Grey and Bruce County Economic Development Initiative.
Eccles says Hanover has a lot to contribute to this and welcomes the town’s input.
He adds the County is also placing a heavy focus on tourism this year.
The County is trying to brand itself as a destination point and will place a heavy emphasis on its many attractions including its beaches, ski resorts, golf courses and trail systems.
Eccles adds there is also a lot of exciting projects taking place at Grey Roots Museum to draw in the tourism dollars.
Eccles says the County is also investigating what type of leadership role if any it should take in waste management.
Eccles suggests the County could serve as type of facilitator between the province and municipality on waste management issues.
Hanover welcomed such a concept.
Hanover was Eccles 4th stop in his County wide tour which will wrap up in mid September.
