“What Development Delays?”
That from the chair of the Saugeen Conservation Authority, Doug Freiburger.
The question follows and pertains to comments made by the Mayor of Brockton, Charlie Bagnato.
Bagnato recently told Bayshore Broadcasting News, there are a number of proposed development projects on hold awaiting authority approval.
He told us they were not impressed having to wait for approval on construction, because the season is so short already.
Freiburger calls the remarks “embarrassing” for all involved, because it sounds like no one is on top of what’s going on.
Freiburger also says the comments couldn’t be further from the truth.
He says there is only one active application with the authority, and they are waiting for revisions from the applicant on it.
Freiburger says he has not contacted Bagnato about the issue since the comments were made last week and doesn’t know if he plans to.
He says there may not be a point, as he was at council a while ago, and indicated there is nothing pending approval, and has no idea what applications Mayor Bagnato is referring to.
