Several repair projects are planned for this summer at public schools in Grey Bruce.
The Bluewater District School Board has targeted 7 schools that will undergo repairs or upgrades after the board qualified for “Good Places to Learn” funding.
Manager of Plant Services Al Gibb says they will spend just over 3 million dollars in total on new fire alarms, emergency lighting, new ventilation systems along with some roof repairs.
Gibb says the work averages 750 thousand dollars per school.
The work will be done at G-C Huston in Southampton, Derby Public, Chesley District high School, West Hill Secondary, Kincardine District Secondary, Holland Chatsworth Public School and Beaver Valley Community school.
