A few streets are closed in Collingwood as the town gets ready for thousands of bikers.
Ride For Sight Organizer Mike Harwood says 15 hundred motorcycles are expected to come to town today and join up with two or three thousand bikers who will already be in town by then.
The town has already closed Heritage Drive and Millenium Park because of concerts held last night and tonight.
Heritage Drive will re-open on Sunday at 7 PM.
The Ste. Marie Street municipal/arena parking lot is also closed until 9 PM for the beer garden.
Ste. Marie Street is also now closed between Ontario and Elgin Streets until 9 PM tonight.
Mike Harwood says the riders are leaving the International Centre in Mississauga at 10 AM sharp and are travelling down Airport Road to arrive in Collingwood between 12 PM and 12:30 PM today.
The bikers will parade down Hurontario Street to Simcoe Street to St. Paul and then will go left on Hume to end at the Curling Club.
The route will be closed to traffic from about Noon to 1:30 PM.
Harbourview Park will also be a busy spot since that’s where the motorcyclists will be camping for the weekend.
And there will be a show and shine downtown through out the weekend as well.
Harwood says 250 thousand dollars has already been raised online for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
He says that’s ahead of what was raised by this time last year and he hopes the riders will bring in enough to total 750 thousand dollars.
