If you’re wondering if your boat is ready for the summer, there is a vessel inspection clinic tonight.
The Grey County OPP Marine Unit and the Rainbow Boat Club will conduct the inspections from 6 PM to 8 PM beside the Owen Sound grain elevators.
This is the 11th year in a row for the inspections.
OPP Marine officers and members of the Boat Club will conduct safety inspections to ensure the vessel is seaworthy and the proper equipment is on board.
As of September 15th — you must have taken a boating safety course to operate any water vessel.
So far this year, 6 people have died in marine incidents.
Police report alcohol and not using a life jacket were factors of all 6 deaths.
