There’s a new Georgian Bay Secondary school Idol.
His name is Conner Volessa and he takes home 11 hundred dollars in prize money.
He sang Simon and Garfunkels “Bridge over troubled water” .
A packed Meaford Hall voted on the top three finishers Friday night.
The program featured the top 15 out of the original 43 acts in this year’s Idol competition.
Jordan Smith won 2nd place money of 425 dollars for her version of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”.
The duo of Sydney and Christina share 225 dollars for their duet of Neil Young’s “Helpless”.
Also featured were “Board of Education” — an all teacher rock band.
Students learn more than 100 songs for the 6 shows leading up to the finale.
The show was sponsored by the Meaford Hall foundation.
