Port Elgin will be playing host to the 3rd annual Heroes on the Move Sports Camp and Vacation Bible School.
Canadian Co-ordinator Sherine Boville says the whole idea is to keep kids active for one week during the summer vacation.
Boville says the camp will feature lots of instructions of the various event included in track and field.
Boys and girls, ages 6 to 12 are invited to attend July 13th to 17th at Saugeen District Secondary School.
Boville says the early bird registration rates remain in effect until June 15th.
The cost is 85 dollars for one child and if there’s a second from the same family, they will be charged 60 dollars.
Boville says in addition to the cost a tax receipt will be issued as per the provincial government’s getting kids active rebate.
She says although the cost is reasonable, she knows there are some who can’t afford it and there are discount coupons available at the Salvation Army; Turtle Crossings and the Vision.
She says they have room for 200 kids and they’re more than half-way filled already.
Boville says the event is sponsored by the Port of Fellowship Baptist Church but is non-denominational in presentation.
Participants will be learning from a group of coaches and leaders coming up from North Carolina, especially for this event.
