The Hanover and District Hospital Foundation has launched a new fundraising project.
Over the next year the Hospital Foundation plans to raise 65 thousand dollars towards the purchase of lifesaving equipment for newborns.
Foundation Co-ordinator Sue Patterson says this includes a security system for the obstetrics wing as well as specialized equipment that will help with the early diagnosis and treatment of jaundice.
This specialized equipment includes a bilimeter, bili blankets and accessories as well as a pediatrics crib and stretcher.
Paterson is confident the community will get behind such a worthy project.
The Foundation has just wrapped up its 275 thousand dollar ‘Image is Everything’ ultra sound machine fundraising project half a year ahead of schedule.
The group planned to raise the money in 3 years and it only took 2 and a half.
The Hanover and District Hospital Foundation serves as the fundraising arm of the hospital.
