Is there anything more unpredictable than Junior B Lacrosse this year ?
Only 7 days ago, the Owen Sound ProTeam NorthStars shaded the MidWest Division leading Elora Mohawks 10-8 in an exciting overtime game.
Bolstered by that, the Stars promptly went on the road, where they had been miserable this season, and lost a curious 4-3 decision at London.
Two nights later, facing a vastly tougher, in every sense of the word, squad at Orangeville, the NorthStars pulled out an 8-7 win to jump over Orangeville into 7th place in the dash for a top 8 playoff spot.
Can you make sense of those results ?
Which brings us tonight and the start of a very busy lacrosse weekend in Owen Sound.
After Monday’s rumble at Orangeville, the same two clubs go at it again tonight at 8 pm at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore.
Looking ahead, tomorrow night, the defending Canadian Senior Lacrosse Champion Owen Sound van Dolder Home Team Woodsmen will be at home to Ohsweken.
And then after a day of recovery, there’s an Owen Sound doubleheader on Sunday with the NorthStars playing at 2 pm Sunday afternoon, followed by the Woodsmen at 7 pm.
But that’s in the future, the NorthStar-Northmen game tonight shapes up as beauty.
