Two local hospital organizations have honoured their employees and volunteers.
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre held its annual awards dinner last week and recognized employees who have committed 10 to 35 years of service.
There were a total of 51 staff members honoured.
The Collingwood G and M Hospital recently held its 11th annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception.
The hospital recognized 33 Volunteer VIP’s with awards including 3 volunteers with 20 years of service, and 1 volunteer with 15 years service.
Manager of Volunteers, Sadie Nixon says Marg Wright has logged 20 years of service with the G&M and is from Collingwood.
Mary Lou Simonato is another 20 year G&M volunteer from Collingwood.
Simonato says she volunteers because, “it’s satisfying and gets me out in the community, making new friends and communicating with people.”
Shirley Stephenson is the third volunteer to be recognized for her 20 years of service to the G&M.
She and her family moved to Collingwood in 1989.
And Pauline Tracey of Collingwood is being recognized for 15 years of service to the G&M.
She volunteers because, “I love to help people. It makes you feel good.”
