A few projects in Huron Bruce are getting more than 121 thousand dollars to protect species at risk and their habitats from the Ontario Government.
The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation is receiving the biggest chunk at $46,761.
This will allow it to develop a shoreline stweardship program, support and monitor the piping plover and deal with invasive species.
Friends of McGregor Point is receiving more than ten thousand dollars to develop educational programming related to reptile species at risk.
The Huron Stewarship Council is getting 31 thousand dollars for a wood turtle recovery program and $15,700 to examine land use practices affecting aquatic species.
Finally, the Ausable Bafield Conservation Authority is receiving more than $17,275 for the development of a Port Franks Management Study.
It will focus on the enhancement of fish habitat.
The money is part of more than four million dollars being doled out by the province to 118 projects to protect species at risk and their habitat.
