When you consider what’s happened in Woodstock recently this next story will send a chill up and down the spine of parents.
Saugeen Shores Police report that a male tried to entice some young girls at a playground at St. Joseph’s School in Port Elgin with some candy.
Police says the man pulled up in a red SUV type vehicle possibly with a roof rack around 8 PM Thursday and made the candy offer.
The male is described as someone in his teens with brown curly hair.
The girls ran home to their parents but didn’t say anything for a period of time.
Police Chief Dan Rivett reminds parents to speak with their children about what is safe and unsafe and to teach them to speak up as soon as possible about any suspicious behaviour that might have occurred.
In the meantime, police will be providing extra supervision in all school areas and parents are asked to report suspicious activity in a timely manner.
