Police warned they would charge you if you were caught dumping garbage — but a Tara man apparently didn’t listen.
Grey County OPP have charged an 18 year old man after a lengthy investigation into garbage dumping.
It started April 20th when Police received a complaint from the Chatsworth Roads Department after trash was dumped on sideroad 1 in the Keady area.
A work crew had just cleaned up the site when they found several household items — including a computer monitor, couch and tires were dumped.
Police report they were able to find clues in the garbage to track the suspect.
They allege the suspect was on his way to the landfill to dump the garbage but decided to dump it on route.
An 18 year old Tara man has been charged with Discharging a Contaminant contrary to the Environmental Protection Act.
