A local MPP is sticking up for area paramedics.
Progressive Conservative Jim Wilson, who represents Simcoe Grey, has introduced a private member’s resolution in the Ontario legislation.
The resolution calls on the provincial government to resolve the issue of pensions for Simcoe County emergency services workers.
Wilson says county paramedics got a raw deal when EMS services were transferred to Simcoe County almost 10 years ago.
He says while many jobs were re-assigned, their pensions weren’t.
Wilson says that means many workers received significiantly reduced pensions.
Wilson’s resolution will be debated in the legislature on Thursday, June 4th around 1:15 PM.
