If you are planning on taking the back way between Owen Sound and the Blue Mountains on Grey Road 40, you will be in for some construction delays for the next three months in the Walters Falls area.
The north bound section of the road between sideroad 23 and the Massie road will be closed for extensive reconstruction work.
Grey County Transportation Director Gary Shaw says the 900 thousand dollar project will see the blasting away of of two sold rock hills and improving grade lines on several steep hills to level out that section of highway.
Shaw says to save additional money they have set up a rock crusher on site to grind the blasted rock into aggregate that can be used on the new section of road.
He says they will be using more than 10 thousand cubic meters of rock as they reconstruct the road, and once its finished it will have new pavement, better sight lines and improved shoulders.
Shaw says detours have been set up and he is optimistic that the construction will be completed by the end of July.
