A 50 year old woman remains in hospital with severe burns following a fire accident in south Port Elgin.
Police say the unidentified owner/employee of J & S Tackle on Highway 21 in Port Elgin near the CAW Road was working with a flammable liquid when her clothing caught fire late Saturday afternoon.
Another employee and two customers assisted in putting the fire out on her clothing and in the store.
The victim was taken to hospital and transferred to London Hospital where she is being treated for severe burns.
Her family has requested through police that the name of the injured not be released.
The Saugeen Shores Fire Department reports the cuase of the blaze is under investigation and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office and the Ontario Ministry of Labour have been called in.
