Transcontinental is closing it’s Bayweb printing operation in Elmvale.
Production at the William Street facility will end on July 19th.
The plant prints flyers, inserts and direct mail products for retail and commercial customers and also prints newspapers and magazines.
Production will be transferred to other Transcontinental Printing plants in Brampton, Toronto and Owen Sound.
The company says the consolidation is necessary to remain competitive.
Transcontinental says employees at Bayweb will be considered for jobs at the other facilities as they become available while others will get severance packages.
Bayweb was established in 1989 and as of June of last year, employed around 175 people.
