A Kincardine Councillor wants improvements made to a dangerous intersection in the municipality.
Mike Leggett says there was a recent fatality at the corner of the South Line and County Road 7 and something needs to be done.
He’d like to see rumble strips installed in the pavement and larger stop signs installed.
Public Works Manager Jim O’Rourke is looking into the possiblity of rumble strips, but the county has to be consulted when it comes to new stop signs.
Mayor Larry Kraemer says he will raise the issue with County Engineer Brian Knox.
Deputy Mayor Laura Haight says she isn’t opposed to the idea of rumble strips, but there needs to be a broader methodology to how they’re installed because other intersections in the municipality could possibly need them too.
Councillor Gordon Campbell says the improvements should be made to the intersection.
