Check the closets and check the sheds for those empty beer bottles and liquor bottles.
It’s time for the annual Returns for Leukemia fundraiser at your local beer store.
All beer store outlets in Ontario have volunteers outside their stores asking if you would like to donate your empties to the cause.
Volunteer worker Tammy Horning says the money raised will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada to fight the disease, research and patient services.
Horning says in the past three years, this campaign has raise over 1.5-million dollars.
A case of 24 empties is another $2.40 in the bank for the cause.
The fundraising will be in front of all Ontario beer stores Saturday and Sunday.
Horning says this issues hits close to home for her.
She says she has an 8 year old son who was diagnosed with the diseased in 2006.
He is on at three and a half year treatment with a 70 to 90 per cent chance of recovery.
Horning says so far her son is doing very well.
