Ontario SPCA branches across the province are holding Walkathon’s this weekend.
The Bruce Grey branch of the OSPCA is holding its Walkathon at the Grey Sauble Conservation headquarters near Owen Sound tomorrow.
Registration is at 10:30 AM Sunday and the Walk begins at 11:15 AM.
One of the organizers — Andrea Wells — says this is an important fundraiser for the branch.
Wells says all of the money raised will stay locally and ensure their office remains open to investigate animal cruelty cases.
Wells notes without their office — someone from outside the region would have to investigate animal cruelty cases — and time would be a factor.
Wells says any money they can raise would be excellent — but she hopes they can reach the five thousand dollar mark.
There are incentive prizes for people who raise the most money — everything from food and movie vouchers to a brand new camera.
Wells says they are also giving away a trip to the Walt Disney All Star Resort.
There is also a lunch and a disc dog demonstration.
