Georgian Bluffs Council wants to hear from the public.
Georgian Bluffs Council will begin looking at implementing development charges with a public meeting next month.
Mayor Alan Barfoot says residents and developers will have a chance to voice their opinion during the meeting on June 16th at 7PM in council chambers.
Barfoot says they have set aside money in this years budget for reviewing the process – but nothing is set in stone.
He says at this point they are cautiously looking at the process and no commitments have been made.
Currently Georgian Bluffs does not have any development charges in place.
Barfoot says they are one of the only municipalities without the fee.
Last month the City of Owen Sound waived development charges for the remainder of this year to stimulate the construction industry.
Barfoot says there have been inquires for a number years from developers about implementing the fee.
