The Hanover Civic Theatre is just 26 thousand dollars shy of its 75 thousand dollar fundraising goal.
The money is needed to repay the town for the 75 thousand dollars worth of new seating that was installed in the theatre last year.
The most recent donation to the cause is from the Hanover Community Players.
The theatre group recently put on a ‘Soundly Seated’ performance and raised just over 4 thousand dollars for the cause.
This bring the total dollars raised to date to 49 thousand.
Community Players Chair Marg Poste says her theatre group was more than happy to contribute to the fundraising project.
She says the 290 new theatre seats have greatly enhanced the theatre experience for patrons.
Poste says the new seats are larger, more comfortable and provide more leg room.
As part of the Theatre’s “Please Take a Seat’ campaign the public can purchase a seat for 300 dollars and have their name or business name engraved on it.
It’s hoped that through the seat sale the Theatre will be able to raise the remaining 26 thousand dollars needed to repay Hanover for the entire 75 thousand dollar project.
