Wasaga Beach’s mayor is asking for community support.
Cal Patterson wants people to come to a public school board meeting this Thursday May 21st to show support for a high school in the town.
Patterson will be speaking at the meeting along with a number of other delegations.
The mayor didn’t speak at last Thursday’s meeting at the Education Centre in Midhurst, but he was there to hear the messages in support of keeping the schools in Stayner, Elmvale and Penetanguishene open.
Patterson says Penetanguishene Secondary had four buses bring students and residents last night and he wants to see the same from Wasaga.
He says the town can likely pick up the tab for the buses so all he needs now is the bodies to fill them.
He also hopes other people can come in their own transportation.
School board trustees will take the information presented by the delegations as well as a number of recommendations from board staff and the accomodation review committee to make a decision on June 17th.
