Today is the first day of a weekend long grand opening celebration of the new Rexall Pharma Plus in Port Elgin.
While the store itself is not new to the area — the bigger location is.
Rexall purchased the former SAAN building on Goderich Street and have moved from their smaller location in the Giant Tiger Plaza to occupy twelve thousand square feet of space.
Regional Director Scott Young says the new location includes an increased cosmetics section and a brand new frozen food section along with an expanded dry goods area.
He says the state of the art pharmacy also includes a private consultation room for patients and pharmacists.
Ten new positions have been created in the new location – offering employment opportunities for the town.
The new hours are Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 9 PM and Sundays from 9 AM to 6 PM.
Saugeen Shores Mayor Mike Smith will be a part of the ribbon cutting ceremony – taking place at 10:30 AM in the morning.
A second grand opening weekend with separate specials is also taking place next weekend.
This weekend and next, a variety of health and wellness clinics and free makeovers will be offered, along with special pricing throughout the store in celebration.
