Count yet more hardware for Collingwood Collegiate musicians.
The CCI drumline has earned a Gold award at the National Musicfest in Toronto.
This was the first time the drumline had taken part in the festival, but not the school’s first awards.
The “B” concert band has been awarded a gold.
Both the “A” Jazz and “B” Jazz ensembles have taken silver.
And the “A” and “C” concert bands also nabbed silvers.
Over 140 CCI students, in the 6 groups, are competing this week.
Band director Kevin Hamlin says the level of competition at the event is very high and the students are giving great performances.
