Contract mediation has paid off for 43 support workers at Community Living Kincardine and District.
CUPE National Representative Jim Keenan says a tenative contract settlement has been reached between the union and the employer.
It was agreed to late yesterday in bargaining in Kincardine.
Keenan says the workers will vote on the package next Tuesday, May 19th.
There are 43 CUPE members who are covered by the agreement, full-time, part-time and relief workers.
The contract will be retroactive to May 1st and is for 2 years.
Details won’t be released until workers vote on the package.
The tenative agreement came just in time, as workers were set to go on strike … or be locked out May 20th if a deal wasn’t reached first.
