The Fire Marshall’s office is investigating this afternoon following a fire that forced the evacuation of Collingwood Ethanol.
No one was injured in the blaze, which broke out at about 10 AM this morning.
Collingwood and the Blue Mountains OPP say the plant was evacuated as soon as the flames broke out.
Officers at the scene tell Bayshore Broadcasting News, it took just under an hour for Collingwood fire crews to bring the fire under control.
Trucks carrying shipments of corn to the plant were sent away for the remainder of the day.
The Ethanol plant has been the focus of a two-year long battle over the noise and smells it generates.
The plant says it met last week’s deadline from the Ministry of the Environment to have a plan in place to curb its odors and noise.
