The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Geranium and Hanging Basket Plant Sale is underway.
On Soundingboard Spokesperson Mary McCallum says they will continue to take orders for the various plants until Wednesday, May 13th.
McCallum says orders must be cut off at that time so they can guarantee delivery by Friday, May 22nd.
She says on that Friday, the plants can be picked up from 9am to noon at the Rotary Scout Hall on Grey Street in Southampton.
McCallum says money raised by this event and any other event they do is used to purchase equipment for the hospital to make the patient’s stay as comfortable as possible.
The auxiliary has just spent 40 thousand dollars on television sets that are being installed in the rooms for patients.
McCallum says the only time money is not spent locally is when there is a special fundraiser from Grey Bruce Health Services for a special piece of equipment that would be available to all.
She says the recent fundraiser for the MRI machine was an example of some auxiliary money going to Owen Sound.
If you wish to order some of the flowers and plants you can visit the Southampton Hospital Gift Shop.
You pay for the plants on delivery with cash or a cheque.
