Grey County OPP is investigating a hit and run that occurred on Saturday — which have been much worse.
A Bell Canada employee had his work van parked on the shoulder of Grey Road 3 a few kilometres north of Grey Road 25 in Chatsworth.
The van clearly visible and there were orange cones around it for added safety.
At about 4:20 PM while the repairman sat in the van, an older blue Ford Aerostar van went by at a high rate of speed and clipped the driver’s side mirror of the Bell van as it passed.
The driver of the van seemed oblivious to what happened and continued on without even slowing down.
Grey County OPP Constable Rick Sadler says had the impact been one foot further to the right, the outcome would surely have been much different.
The Bell employee was unable to get the plate number of the suspect van,
but did note it had tinted windows.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Grey County O.P.P. or Crime Stoppers.
