The revitalized Children and Youth services department at the Owen Sound and North Grey Union library is done, and it’s time to move back into the facility.
Now that the construction is finished, chief Librarian Judy Armstrong says the Libary and Adult Learning centre will be closed temporarily for the big move.
It will be closed for the week of May 11th to the 18th, so Library officials are advising you to stock up on books and DVDs ahead of time.
In total, some 33 thousand books, DVDs, toys and other materials will be moved from the temporary location in the auditorium… into the renovated space.
The Owen Sound library will close Sunday, May 10th, at 5pm and the new Children’s and Youth services department will re-open at 9am on Tuesday, May 19th.
Chief Librarian Judy Armstrong says local businesses and families have been generous in their support of the 5 month old project, but she says still need to raise 75 thousand dollars to cover the cost.
Donors are being recognized on clay “books”, a permanent installation within the library.
