Since then, Toronto has hosted Wakestock, with events contained at the Toronto Islands.
Organizers want to hold this year’s festival at the Collingwood spit, saying they can use security staff to keep the crowds safe, and will shuttle fans to and from Blue Mountain.
Last year’s wakestock in Toronto was attended by 15-thousand people.
If it goes ahead, it will be the third huge event planned for downtown Collingwood this summer.
The annual Elvis Festival runs during the long weekend in August, and the Ride for Sight will bring thousands of motorcyclists to town the weekend of June 13th.
