Grey County OPP are investigating a fraud reported to them by a Southgate couple.
Police say they purchased a pick up truck online for 15 thousand dollars from someone supposedly in Virginia.
From documentation received…the couple thought they were dealing through Ebay Motors and were therefore protected.
They wired the money but the vehicle never appeared.
Turns out the seller wasn’t who he said he was.
Police again reminding us to be extremely careful with online purchases…especially large ones involving sellers from outside of the country.
They suggest taking the time to varify contact information first.
The investigation is continuing.
