Landowners affected by the Bruce Milton Hydro Transmission line will meet with area politicians, and MPPs in Holstein this Sunday.
The meeting begins at 1 PM in the Holstein Optimist Hall, in Holstein and officials expect at least 100 people to attend.
Organizer and landowner Randy Threndyle says most landowners along the corridor have received offers from Hydro One which are described as somewhat low by many property assessors.
Threndyle says they will meet to discuss the offers and hopefully get feedback from Hydro One officials on what those offers mean.
He says some people have been told it’s a take or leave it offer, while others have been told the offers are simply an opening to negotiate from.
Threndyle says the offers vary significantly depending on where they are along the line and also whether it is just a part of a farm or a whole farm where the house and everything would be bought up for the new transmission line out of the Bruce.
Hydro One wants to build a second line from the Bruce power site to Milton to get hydro out of the refurbished units on the Lake Huron shoreline.
An Environmental assessment of the project is not over yet, so the land expropriation is on hold right now.
