A new Vice President of Corporate affairs is taking over at Bruce Power.
Murray Elston will begin his new job May 19th, as the face of the company.
He will handle all external communications including media, government and community relations.
Elston says it is great opportunity to work for a growing and dynamic company like Bruce Power.
Elston has been President of the Canadian Nuclear association in Ottawa for five years — from 2004 until now.
However, residents in the Walkerton area know he was a long time Liberal MPP in the area, and was health minister at Queens Park in the mid 1980’s.
Elston is currently Chair of the Walkerton Clean Water Centre, and has served on several boards.
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, he practiced law in Bruce county before getting into politics.
Bruce Power CEO Duncan Hawthorne calls Murray Elston a natural fit and says he is well regarded in the local community, and the broader nuclear industry.
