A special celebration to kick off the next fundraising phase of the new Hanover Regional Recreation Complex is taking place tonight.
About 200 people will attend the invitation only wine and cheese event hosted by Mayor Kathi Maskell at the Hanover Coliseum.
Spokesperson Dave Hocking says the night will be full of pleasant surprises.
Organizers will unveil the amount of money raised to date through the silent fundraising campaign as well as reveal what the public fundraising goal is.
Tonight will also salute the project’s big financial supporters.
The new 10.5 million dollar Hanover Regional Recreation Complex will replace the 46 year old Hanover Coliseum — which will be torn down in June.
The Regional Recreation Complex will be constructed on site of the old Coliseum and should be complete by August of 2010.
Tonight’s event will also kick off ‘The Last Blast in the Barn’.
It runs from May 1st to May 3rd and includes a weekend full of events.
