Owen Sound Police hunting for a armed robber.
Police say around 11:05 PM Monday night — a lone male walked into the Mr. Sub restaurant, produced a knife, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.
Police Inspector Steve MacKinnon says the lone employee was very distraught but was not injured.
The male had been standing on the southeast corner of 10th Street and 2nd Avenue East before crossing the avenue and entering the store.
After stealing the cash he ran southbound on 2nd Avenue East and was last seen going east through Carneys Lane.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, believed to be in his 20s, approximately 5 foot 10 to 6 feet tall, with a medium build.
He was wearing a dark coloured winter parka, ball cap, and blue jeans.
MacKinnon says there were people in the area at the time and probably saw the person and he wants them to get in touch with Owen Sound Police or Crime Stoppers.
