Thousands of Hydro One customers spent the night in the dark, after thunderstorms rolled thru Ontario.
At least 40 thousand people were knocked off-line yesterday afternoon and the OPP had to respond to numerous calls of hydro lines down and fallen trees blocking roadways in Huron and Perth Counties.
This morning…
Hydro One estimates there are over 600 people without power in south Grey and Bruce county served by the Walkerton station.
The biggest outage is in Perth county around Listowel where about 3 thousand people still are without electricity.
There are some 500 people in Wellington county without power, and another 300 in Huron county served by the Clinton station.
Estimates vary as to when the hydro will be back on — some today and some won’t be back on until Tuesday.
