She Rolled Up the Rim, and she won.
Tara Lee of Port Elgin is now the proud owner of a brand new Toyota Venza, the biggest prize in the annual Roll Up The Rim to Win contest at Tim Horton’s.
Lee bought a medium double double at the Port Elgin location on her way to work in Owen Sound back on March 2nd.
She says she never rolled up the rim until after work that afternoon.
After finding out she won the car, she went to a Tim Horton’s location in Owen Sound and was then told to go to the Port Elgin store to fill out the paperwork.
Lee says she’s thrilled but it’s a surreal feeling to have won the car but it feels more tangible now that she has the keys for it.
She says the win happened at the right time.
She had been driving a 15 year-old Volkswagen that was just about at the end of its lifespan.
Marty Harshman, owner of the Tim Horton’s in Port Elgin, says the win is very exciting.
He says it’s been a year since he and his wife Louise took over the location and sums it up as just being a lucky cup.
Candace Fowler, spokesperson for Tim Horton’s head office in Oakville, says there were 35 Roll Up the Rim cups with car prizes across the country this year and about 30 of those have been redeemed so far.
She says the win is exciting for the Port Elgin location and that there were many winners of major Roll Up the Rim prizes this year in Southwestern Ontario.
