The movement of deer across the region isn’t just restricted to the fall and winter months.
Now that it’s getting warmer out there, deer are looking for places to feed and that often takes them across busy highways and County roads.
The animals often will be most active around dawn and dusk, and OPP remind us to be extra-watchful if driving around those times — police advise not to drive at all during those hours if possible.
Police warn never to attempt sudden movements to try to evade the animals.
Police say in one incident last month — a vehicle swerved, caught the shoulder and flipped over several times before coming to rest.
In the past OPP have investigated a few such accidents which ended with the death of the driver or a passenger.
