Nominations are open to recognize people in our communities who make a difference through hockey.
The RBC Local Hockey Leaders program celebrates the unsung volunteers who dedicate their time to supporting minor hockey in their communities.
Canadian National Women’s Hockey Team member and RBC Olympian Jennifer Botterill points out the sport is a very integral part in many young Canadian’s lives.
She adds there are so many ways people are volunteering to make it all happen – from the coaches to the people who take care of the ice.
Botterill says the Local Hockey Leaders program boasts a pretty impressive prize package.
13 winners from across Canada will receive 10-thousand dollars toward a registered charity or hockey cause in their community, a trip to Toronto where they will be recognized in the Hockey Hall of Fame, and a team spot in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay.
Judging criteria include hard work, dedication, commitment, and impact on the community.
Nominations are open until midnight on April 17th and can be entered at www.rbcinsurance.com
