The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks are ready.
Head coach of the WOAA senior mens hockey club Don Matheson says the team is focused on their best of seven championship series with the Tavistock Royals.
Matheson says their goal all along was to win three playoff series and they’ve got two under their belt.
He says the club practiced yesterday at their new venue–the Southampton Coliseum.
Matheson says some of the guys are suffering the bumps and bruises from Tuesday’s final game with Shelburne, but everyone is ready to go.
He says they even have a couple of players coming back from injuries that will re-join the squad.
Matheson says he’s looking forward to playing at the Coliseum.
He says the rink doesn’t hold as many as the Plex but he knows they can fit 1,000 fans in there.
He says it’s a loud rink and therefore becomes a very emotional one as well.
Tonight’s game at the Coliseum starts at 8:30 p.m.
Game two in the series is tomorrow night in Tavistock, start time is 8:30 p.m.
