The slowdown in the economy doesn’t seem to have any impact on College grads finding work.
The Key Performance Indicators survey (KPI) shows 92.4 percent of Georgian College grads found work within six months of leaving the College.
It is the 11th consecutive year that Georgian’s graduate employment rate has surpassed 90 per cent.
Vice President of External Relations, Bob Kennedy says the survey also shows employer satisfaction with their new employees at over 94 percent, or slightly above the provincial average for College grads.
24 community colleges are studied thru the KPI survey of employers and former students.
Kennedy says some programs showed close to 100 percent of the grads finding work, including the Marine training program and Police services.
He says there is no break-down available yet to show the number of students from the Owen Sound campus who managed to find work, just the overall College numbers.
