Kincardine’s 2009 budget has received its first round of approval from council.
It contains 32 million dollars in combined capital and operating spending, and will mean an extra 40 dollars on the tax bill for a property assessed at 169 thousand dollars.
Mayor Larry Kraemer says the exact tax rate isn’t known yet but they’re working on it.
Municipalities in Bruce County have to wait until county council approves it’s budget.
Kraemer says some minor adjustments could still be made before everything is finalized.
He says the entire municipal budget by-law should be ready for final approval on May 15th.
