A visual display by Georgian College students has been presented at Queen’s Park.
Early Childhood Education student Annya Pucan created the mural, which is covered with over 35-hundred hand prints, as part of an Ethics and Advocacy project.
Each hand-print represents 100 children living in poverty in Ontario.
Pucan says as ECE’s, she and her fellow classmates see first hand the effects of child poverty in the community.
The students asked MPP Bill Murdoch to present the mural to Premier Dalton McGuinty in the Ontario legislature.
The Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP read a statement in the legislature Tuesday afternoon in support of the Georgian College students’ efforts.
Murdoch says having a visual representation of such an important issue makes his job easier.
